[SOLVED] Is my i7-8700 damaged? Small scratch

I have a i7-8700, I tried to install it a year ago and it wouldn’t power on, I am now coming back to this issue to see if I can get it to work. There is a small scratch on some of the gold plating on the CPU, everything else seems to be intact. Not entirely sure how to add an image to this thread

That defiantly does not look good. I cant say for sure, but that could very well be the issue. There are also a lot of singular pins (contacts) that appear scratched or damaged, the ones that appear white.

If the lid had a scratch then it probably wouldn’t matter. But if the pins are scratched, then it is probably broken.
