is my intel core i5 4460 broken?

i was building my pc for the first time yesterday and i put the processor in the incorrect position without any pressure and slightly wiggled it. then i noticed and put it on the correct spot. is it possible my cpu has been damaged by doing this? please help

My completely pointless opinion is that it is fine. You are asking if the CPU that has not had power run through it since the factory has broken by you lightly handling it. If there are no visible signs of damage then install it and turn it on.

Unless you mashed down the pins on the motherboard it will work. And even then the CPU would probably still be fine unless you knocked off a pad (and even then not every single pin/pad is 100% necessary)
