Yeah mans thats not good at all! Man you CPU will be dead in a month at those temps! I recommend the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO as a cheap cooler that will suffice in cooling that cpu, i had the same cooling issues with the same CPU about a month ago for a clients PC, i slapped an EVO on there and noise and temperature levels dropped right down.
CPU core temp is good enough. And ~38 degrees is not that hot. It is normal for the CPU to heat up that much.
I don't know about reliability but I would definitely trust CPU Core temp.
Good luck.

they seem fine to me.What is your max load temps?100% utilisation

Your temps are fine at idle, have you dome a prime95 stress test to see what your temps get too. Once you have done the stress test for about an hour send post another link to your temps to see what they are getting up too.

this is my temperature under full load after 20 minutes

thank you for the reply will probaly order it this week,
but i have 2 more questions.
should i buy a tube of thermal paste with it or is that not necissary,
and 2.
i keep having these crashes when i play games like battlefield 4,counter strike, and fifa 15
and other people think it might be my psu do you know how i could test if my psu is bad?

Staargaardroy,

(1) All computer temperatures are relative to ambient temperature. What is your ambient temperature, please?

(2) The CPU temperature shown on SpeedFan 4.49 is erroneous, and should be ignored. Also, the Core temperatures shown in SpeedFan 4.49 are 15C too low. This has been corrected in SpeedFan 4.50, which is the latest version. Core Temp is the easiest program to use, however, if you want a little more information, then I recommend Real Temp.

(3) About Prime95:

Core i 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generation CPU's have AVX (Advanced Vector Extension) instruction sets. Recent versions of Prime95 (28.5) run AVX code on the Floating Point Unit (FPU) math coprocessor, which produces unrealistically high temperatures. The FPU test in the software utility AIDA64 shows the same results.

Prime95 v26.6 produces temperatures on 3rd and 4th Generation processors more consistent with 2nd Generation, which also have AVX instructions, but do not suffer from thermal extremes due to having a soldered Integrated Heat Spreader and a 35% larger Die.

Please download Prime95 version 26.6 - http://windows-downloads-center.blogspot.com/2011/04/prime95-266.htm

Run only Small FFT’s for 10 minutes, which will give us your thermal benchmark.

Your Core temperatures will test 10 to 20C lower.

Guys,

Please read this Tom’s Sticky: Intel Temperature Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

Thanks,
