I am planning to upgrade my hard drive from a 1 TB one to 2 TB and was told it may or may not be compatible.
I really need a 2 TB hard drive for my laptop for all the storage. So needed to know how can I know whether my laptop will support 2 TB or not.
My Laptop Specs: HP 15-r022tx Notebook PC - Product Specifications (http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04345334)
And this is the hard drive i want to upgrade to: http://www.amazon.in/WD-SATA-Desktop-Drive-Black/dp/B00FJRS628?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ANNU2ZYH8W485
Although I have upgraded my RAM recently to its max.
Also can you tell if it is an upgrade to my current one considering data transfer rates and overall speed?
Your help will be appreciated. Thanks In advance...

Hey there, Sarthak_8.

I don't see a reason for this laptop not to be compatible with a 2TB HDD. The one you've chosen should do just fine. From what I can see the original drive is 2.5" (which is a standard form factor for notebook and laptop drives) and it could be 9.5mm, which would mean that the 7mm HDD should have no issue fitting in the drive slot.
As for the upgrade in terms of performance, I can't tell for sure as I don't know the technical specs of both drives. It would be best if you check the technical specs of the drive you have now and compare them with those of the drive you're going to get. This should clear things up.

Hope that helps.
