Question is my laptop infected or my wifi hijacked?

Hello,

My laptop is acting strangely and is acting on its own. I am afraid that it has been infected and my wifi at home has been hijacked.

I shudder to ask what that means, but, if you are implying someone else seemingly or even feasibly has remote access...?

Immediately download/install/run Malwarebytes Antimalware, and let it quarantine anything it finds...

Factory reset your router, and then immediately change it's password to something secure...(many routers have the option to disable web admin access, requiring local network access for any admin changes...)

Rather than worrying countless hours if anything is or MIGHT BE still on your system, you could simply flatten it ('nuke and pave', i.e., delete partitions, full reinstall), and thereby start over with confidence that it is clear...

Immediately change all various passwords to assorted accounts if you think those may have been compromised by the laptop in question. (Use Lastpass with a very secure password, and it will help track your passwords, or, use a 7-zip encrypted notepad file to log them yourself)
