Currently, my m.2 ssd cannot be detected in the bios or Windows startup. It is incredibly hot, it hurts to touch it for more than 2 seconds when it's running.

What I have tried:

Clearing CMOS
Changing the m.2 slot it's in, it fits for both
Updating my bios version

Is there anything else? I'm guessing it's bust if it's running this hot anyways... It's a Sabrent rocket 1tb gen 4 on a MSI mag mortar b550 WiFi motherboard.

it sounds like it's a fried chip if it's so toasty you cant touch it

So I have built my pc and am trying to connect my m.2 ssd. It's a Sabrent rocket gen 4 1tb. At the moment, the motherboards boot light is red. And when I enter the bios I cannot see my ssd. My motherboard is the msi b550m mag mortar WiFi.

I have tried to clear CMOS, messed around with just about every BIOS setting like A-Xmp.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Try remove and install ssd again. Ssd will show in nvme in bios.
Is any heatsink came with it or you arr installing motherboard heatsink on it try again.
