[SOLVED] Is my Mainboard functional? Testing without CPU, no beep

I got a untested LGA 1151 AFOX B250 BTC 12P for 15€ on ebay. Sadly I don't own a matching CPU at the moment.
I remembered that Mainboards without cpu and RAM beep. So I connected a speaker to the Mainboard, a fan to the cpu fan header (just for fun) and plugged in my PSU.
The "PC" started itself, at least I could see the cpu fan spinning and the Mainboard decorative leds shining. However I didn't short the start pins whatsoever... Weird.

Also, I didn't get ANY beeps, which I find odd.

I know it's easier to tell if a Mainboard is working, with a CPU, but is this normal? I've never seen a Mainboard not beeping without cpu and ram. I want to avoid investing in a cpu if the Mainboard itself is dead already.
Any help is very appreciated!

Useless operation. Beep or no beep, proves nothing.
Wait until you have the minimum required parts.
Alright, thank you!
I'm looking forward to experiment with mining with it, so a really weak cpu might do the work for me!
I'm a bit lost with intels sockets...
This is LGA 1151 for 6th (and 7th?) Gen CPUs?
So just get a Pentium G39XX?

Yeah, that would probably work.

But mining? Why?
GPU mining is long dead. It enjoyed a brief resurgence a couple years ago, but now dead again.
