Is my mobo compatible with the video card?

Hi,

I wish to know if my motherboard, an MSI P35 Platinum Combo, is compatible with a PCI-E 2.1 video card.
I think the PCI-E version in my mobo is 1.1, but I'm not sure.
If not, will I be able to update BIOS in order to make it compatible?

PCI-E 2.* is bacvkwards compatible with older PCI-E slots - the only difference between the two is the amount of bandwidth they support, which with todays current graphics cards wont be a problem

Oh, alright.
I'm talking about a Radeon HD6950 card. There won't be any performence issues because of the bandwidth differece, right? Just to be sure...
