Hey, I've been looking around recently for a dedicated graphics card.
My mobo is http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-daa78l-kara-mb/ from a pre built.
And my apu is a10 7800.

I was wondering weather a gpu with gddr5 such as a r7 260x or r7 360 would be compatible with my mobo.

Solution
yes the type of RAM the GPU has is irrelevant to the rest of the system. the GPU is a computer on a card, it has a CPU and its own RAM and the OS for it is the game. the GPU's RAM type has no bearing on compatibility.
the main deciders are the PCIe slots, you need a full size 16x slot, PCIe 2/3. your motherboard supports PCIe2.0. new cards will work but not at full speed. a few less frames per second.
