Hey guys. My pc was running normal yesterday and this morning when i turned it on it started up normally however nothing showed up on my screens.

I dont know exactly what my mobo is but my gpu is a 960 gtx and cpu is intel i5 3500k.

I realised that my gpu fans are not spinning so my initial thoughts were the gpu dieing, which it could stiko be but its the newest part in the system.

My mobo is really quite old so i did some research and seems like it COULD be the mobo dieing but it could be the gpu or psu aswell.

I have no way to check if its the psu as i dont have a spare one laying around.

I'm out now but planning on taking out the RAM and seeing if i get some beeps, i read somewhere i should take out the ram AND gpu and wait fot the beeps but im unsure if i really need to remove the gpu? Can i get away with just the ram and if i get beeps then that means the mobo is still working right?

If i were to get no beeps with the ram in and gpu out would the mean the gpu is dead?

Im a bit confused in how to tell if the gpu is dead so some help with that would be great.

If i take out the ram and gpu and get no beeps that means the mobo is dead correct?

Again the computer starts up but nothing shows up on my screen.

Solution
I would test this way

1. remove video card from motherboard
2. plug monitor into the onboard video port of your motherboard
3. try to boot to bios see if you see anything.

if yes... then problem with video card or psu powering the video card
if no, then you could try to reset bios by removing the battery on the board for 2 mins and slipping it back on and see if it boots to bios

note : all of this is done while the computer is disconnected from the wall (i.e. no power when pulling the video card out or changing battery)

Solution
I gave it all a clean and made sure everything was sitting properly. I also switched the RAM Cards which may of helped.

It wasn't all that dirty, but perhaps the clean and switch of ram is what fixed it.

Thanks for the help.
