I have a strong feeling that my old mobo is killing my pc performance as some games i get really good fps and others its enraging how little i get no matter what quality i put my games on.

Build is as follows:
Windows 10 pro 64Bit
AMD fx 8320 (stock clock)
24gb DDR3 Ram (underclocked because of Mobo)
Giga 970A-D3P mobo
8Gb Radeon RX 470
1x 256gb Siliconedge Blue SSD (OS)
2Tb Seagate SSHD Hybrid for some games

Is there anyone who can tell me what i can do that wont cost me a lot of money or basically a rebuild.

Solution
It's hard to say if anything's holding anything back without hard data. FPS on what specific games at what specific settings would help us determine if something was actually wrong.

The basic truth is that, depending on what your usage, there's a good chance that it's your PC holding your PC back. If the CPU is actually throttling because of poor VRMs -- the DS3P was not the version of this motherboard to pair with a 125W CPU -- you might see more performance with a better quality motherboard.

But if your motherboard isn't causing a problem in this way, it's most likely a problem of your platform itself. The FX CPUs were always disappointing as game performers due to their weak single-core performances when they were new. And that was...

You say ds3p but its not a ds3p
This is the one i have if there is any relevance compaired to the ds3p
https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/GA-970A-D3P-rev-10#ov
|
https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/GA-970A-DS3P-rev-10#ov
This has less features again not sure if that makes a difference ^

Later on tomorrow i'll run some games and get different reading on 4 different setting being lowest, Medium, High and max and post here, Thanks for the reply.

Slightly better but still worse than the UD3P.
