Question Is my monitor incompatible with DVI?

Just got a new card that only has a DVI port, and when I connect it to my Acer ED242QR, it worked just fine for a moment the goes black screen and it said Input Not Supported. Other ports are OK though. So is there a problem with my monitor or is it just not optimized for DVI?

If this is your card, you have three displayport, one HDMI, and one DVI output. Your monitor has one of each of these inputs. If DVI is not working, then try either of the other two types of outputs.

It's possible that your GPU tries to send an invalid resolution to your monitor. If I try to set my monitor to anything above 78 Hz, it says the same thing and has a black screen. A different input could help as Wolfshadw said.

I agree with Wolfshadow, try a Displayport cable.

I mean my RX 570 has only 1 port and that is DVI. By other ports I meant i used a different card to test the ports on the monitor and they work. Forgot to clarify that, sorry

No, I have seen RX 4xx or 5xx GPUs with only a DVI port, but you should get GPU-Z and check.

Use GPU-Z to check the model and BIOS version.

I believe only have a single DVI port is more common on mining cards.

There's nothing inherently wrong with mining cards except for not knowing how much time they were used and under what conditions and their lack of IO. Where did you buy the card from?

Just a local store. I guessed it might have been used for mining anyway, but for $40 i couldnt ask for anything more

I can't tell its name but it has all the pins that fit in a DVI port unlike the one that is missing some pins in the middle

No, but does this error have something to do with the motherboard? I suspect it might be the mobo that is faulty here

What is the make/model of your motherboard and do you have the most recent BIOS version available for it installed?
