Is my monitor IPS or TN?

I'm considering upgrading either my keyboard, or my monitor- whichever is more needed to upgrade. If my monitor is TN it will make me lean more towards upgrading my monitor, as color is the most important thing to me in a display. My monitor is a Gateway HX2000, 20" (i think it's 20") 1600x900 60hz 5ms response time.
So is there software, or somewhere on my PC i could figure this out? Looking online was no good as for some reason the only thing i see for this monitor is "TFT LCD," so i'm guessing it's TN? I once read that if they don't say what it is it most likely is TN as they don't view it as a strong point for advertising. Correct me if i'm wrong, but any help is appreciated.

Thanks

TFT means thin-film-transistor. i've seen it listed many times but never have heard any benefit or negative in relation. just a type of LCD tech it is using for controlling pixels. doesn't correspond to TN or IPS.

i would recommend going to BestBuy or somewhere similar and checking out the different TN vs IPS panels. some claim a huge difference but i have seen some of both that look great.
i would personally go for IPS, but if you don't notice much difference between the ones you check out it will save a lot of $$ going, or sticking with, TN.
