Is my mother board going bad

My computer is just over a year old now and is starting to show some issues. The computer was custom built with parts I ordered online and up until now has had no issues.

one issue is that my i5 processor temperature is rising when I play games that really shouldn't be putting much strain on it. When not playing a game it says at 28-32 degrees but during a lot of games it can spike to around 55-60 degrees.

My motherboard has been making an alarming sound. I sounds a bit like a squeak noise when the mother board is being idle. When the mother board is doing a lot of work it doesn't make the noise but when not doing something to strenuous it's making that noise.

One of my friends says that this is a sign that it is actually my power supply that is going bad. That the noise is power escaping or something like that.

I was just wondering what other people might think. Is my motherboard going bad or my power supply or am I really that unlucky and after only having the computer for a year a lot of things are going bad? It's not so much that there is a problem because I know there is but it's just not knowing what is causing it that's concerning me.

My mother board is an MSI Z97 MPOWER
My processor is an Intel Core i5 4670K - 3.4 GHz - 4 cores - 4
My graphics card is an ASUS GeForce GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 - 2GB - PCI-E
My power supply is an CoolerMaster GM Series G750M - 750 Watt

At the moment I am unable to check that since I am connected to the monitor through HDMI which is being fed from the graphics card. I don't have a DVI connection and the HDMI socket on my mother board is covered. I will need to fix that before I can test it without the graphics card. But I'm short on time right now to do it so I will have to get back to you later.

I can't get the cover off the HDMI socket on my mother board. In order to do it would require a dismantle to remove the motherboard and then take it off. I don't fell that this is a very good idea since i had a little help putting it all together.
