i was updating bios through windows
(my mistake) and it failed. so when it turned off i powered it back on i just got a black screen, is my motherboard bricked or can i just buy another bios chip with newer bios version on it and stick it in. my motherboard is a Asus P5W DH Deluxe and my bios chip is not soldered.
Thanks!

Solution
You can try inserting the motherboard DVD and restarting the PC. If not recovering, then yes, a BIOS chip would solve the issue.

Thank you, I'll report my result in about 2.5 weeks because that's how long its going to take for the chip to come.

i have yet another question, i ahev a core 2 quad that i just put in and my bios is still corrupt like it should be so when i get my new bios chip the processor should start working right? im like a superstitious noob an this is like my first actual *good* computer.

your friggen awesome you know that?

so my bios chip came( hooray!) it was going well for like 10 mine, but my computer crashed and there was the blue screen, any help?

it just said that it may be occurring because of bios update, it said to disable some thing in safemode, do you think re installing windows would help?
