Is my motherboard broken...if it won't recognise DIMMs installed in Channel A but will recognises DIMMs in Channel B? I recently put together a QX6700 system using an ASUS Striker Extreme Motherboard with 2x1GBs DDR2-8500 Kingston Ram. As I said it won't recognise DIMMs installed in Channel A, so I'm stuck using 2GB of ram in single channel configuration. Am I correct in assuming that it is broken and I should send it back?

Try putting 1 stick into slot A and fire it up... if it works place the other one into the other A slot.

If it doesn’t function I would consider sending that striker back for a new one.

And call Asus :)
