To make a long story short, I was using a GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 for about a year 1/2. One day the computer just shut of randomly and it wouldn't turn on with the card inside. I got the card replaced and the computer worked great and the performance was so much better than the old card too. About after 14 days of using the new replaced card, the same thing happened! So I'm getting another card and going to try again.

The only new thing I've changed in my PC is a new ASUS 144hz monitor. And a new PSU

Steps I've taken
1. New PSU Evga 750watt
2. Uninstalled MSI afterburner that could've been overclocking my card too much

Any ideas on how to fix this?

on your card there is a known issue of the heat pipes not touching the card.
I would contact evga customer relations try get your money back or update 1000 gpu. if not talk to your credit card. there was another post here a few days ago with the same gpu that went up in flames.
