Hey, I'm planning on adding a new gpu to my computer.
I already have a nvidia geforce gtx 760 and I was planning on adding a 980 Ti without using a SLI bridge, I would just use them for powering individual monitors.
But after doing some research about my motherboard (ASRock z77 Pro 4) I got confused if my motherboard is actually capable of handling 2 gpu's.
On the ASRock website (http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Pro4/), the manufacturer said that it had only one PCI slot.
That's the thing what confuses me. Because on the motherboard it self I can clearly see two PCI slots and further in the description it is said that the motherboard supports AMD's Crossfire technology, but to be able to support crossfire you'll need in the first place, room for a second gpu?

I hope someone is able to answer my question, Skip

It supports Crossfire but not SLI.

The second PCIe x16 slot only runs @ x4 and SLI requires that all slots run at at least x8.
Btw you can't use two different cards on sli and you need an sli bridge

so i can't just place a second card next to it without using a sli bridge?

Unless you are using AMD cards, no.
You need an sli bridge for SLI (nvidia)

But i don't want to use sli, i just want two seperate nvidia cards. That isn't possible either?

You clearly do not understand me
You CANNOT use two different Nvidia cards (ex 980 and 970) BUT you CAN use two different radeon cards ( ex r9 380 and r9 390)
BUT, you can use two exact Nvidia cards (970 and 970), which is SLI and for that you need an sli bridge
