I have made some huge mistakes in building my first pc. first off I bought a 8th gen motherboard for a 7th gen cpu messed up there went back and bought another and its 6th gen but I have a intel 6700 3.4 I could put in it but I wanna put the 4.2 7th gen in my main computer. I just need to know if the asus h170 pro is compatible with the 7th gen intel cpu's

Is this your motherboard? https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/H170-PRO/

If so, download it from here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/H170-PRO/HelpDesk_BIOS/

If it doesn't work, don't blame it on me, ask ASUS. Your attitude is just disturbing. Good luck.

I reckon Im just getting a black screen on my main computer now

The 7700K is clocked 300-600 MHz faster than the non-K 7700 variant for turbo/base clocks, respectively; many assume there is no difference except for overclocking ability, which is most assuredly not the case. Just because one can't or will not overclock does not mean the 600 MHz higher base clocks will not benefit gaming. It does. (the H110 boards will work assuming they have a post-Jan 2017/Kabylake-enabling/recognizing BIOS)

buddy I reckon drivers 3601 and 3402 corrupted my motherboard and now I have to send it back inorder to get the bios back to factory setting thanks for the help. btw I need 3016 ver I reckon you have less knowledge about mb and cpu than I do. If anyone gets help from this guy I would just ignore him.

ita a 170 and it will work someone just told me the wrong drivers to download
