Question from redhot3 : "Is my motherboard Compatible with GTX 1080 Ti and i7-770 CPU"

I don't think it supports the 7700....at least it's not listed here.

The fastest i7 looks to be the 4790K.....but it will support a GTX 1080 Ti.

I see. They do seem good. Though, I was considering Z87 pro gamer or ASUS ROG Maximus IX Extreme.

The thing is I made a small mistake. I purchased the i7-7700 yesterday and I'm waiting for it to be delivered, without knowing if it will be compatible with my motherboard. Although, I do not mind buying another motherboard.

I need to make sure if I have the DDR4 ram or not, I'm not at home atm. But I guess, since I have already purchased the GTX 1080 ti and i7-7700, I guess I should just go with the motherboard. No? Which Z370 / Z270 motherboard do you recommend?

You don't have DDR4 RAM if you plan to reuse what's in your H87 board, H87 only supports DDR3.

I would personally return the 7700 if you can. If you cant then really any H270 or Z270 board would be fine for a locked i7 7700. Something like that maximus is a waste of money with a locked CPU however. I would look at the ASUS H270 or Z270 prime.

I see. Hm.
