will buy an i7-2600k a few days from now, but might change decision if a 3770 is actually compatible.

Yes, it would be able to use an i7-3770K. Make sure the BIOS is completely up-to-date with the 3rd gen intel support, because if you install a 3rd gen on a board that only supports 2nd, it could lead to BAD things.

Both 2nd and 3rd generation intel processors use the LGA1155 socket, which is what your MoBo supports. So yes, it would.

I believe so, the Dell website lists the latest as A29

Select the "BIOS" category and then your OS (which I believe is Windows 10 64-bit) and then it should come up with the latest update
