Is my motherboard compatible with Q9650

So I ordered two Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 off ebay and both times I was getting BSOD and all my programs constantly crashing, I chalked it up to the CPU I got were both bad because they were pretty heavily scratched on top, then today I was looking at my motherboard information and I didn't see it listed as a supported proccessor upgrade BUT it is a 775 socket......

is it possible to update bios to support it ?

If you have an HP OEM board it has HP BIOS no matter who made it. The supported CPUs are right on the page you linked and I quoted above. No quads.
