I'm am using the Gigabyte 870A-UD3 Motherboard and I'm curious if it supports the AMD FX-8350. The box says that it is AM3 ready, but I'm unsure if it supports it. If it doesn't, should I buy a new motherboard, or is there a good CPU that my motherboard can support? I am currently using the AMD 1075t.

EDIT: I'm using revision 2.1 by the way.

Is there any way to update it to a higher revision, or is that not possible? Also I'm assuming it's not worth it to pay $200 to upgrade from the 1075t to the 1100t black edition.

your motherboard don't support AMD FX-8350 here is the cpu support list for the GA-870A-UD3 http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3423, you can try GA-890FXA-UD5 it does support AMD FX-8350 here is the cpu support list http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3781. Other board that support AMD FX-8350 are GA-990XA-UD3, GA-970A-UD3, GA-890FXA-UD5 and GA-990XA-UD3 but there are also other board that support it.

Your motherboard will work with the FX-8350, although you may need to do a little tweaking.
I have the GA-870A-USB3L motherboard which works very well, although with a 4+1 VRM overclocking is not on the cards. You have an 8+2 VRM (albeit without heatsink) so should work even better. I've documented my experiences here:

It was a no-brainer for me, updating from a Phenom II X2 560. For your 1075t the comparison looks a little closer.

The 8350 is still way ahead. If you want to overclock (with the increased power consumption) you will at least need to add a VRM cooler, and make sure your case airflow is good enough.

There is a distinct lack of discussion using older motherboards with the Vishera's; the answer just seems to always be, "No, it's not supported". So if you choose to stay with your motherboard and try out the 8350 It'd be good to hear about it!
