Hey guys,
I was wondering if my motherboard would be compatible with Windows 10?
I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68M-D2H. It's quite old but I'm wondering if it would still work with windows 10 and if not, what issues may arise if I DO upgrade to windows 10 regardless of it not being compatible?

Thanks in advance!

Solution

Yes.

Here are your chipset drivers if you need them for a RAID configuration (select your version of Windows 10 in the box) otherwise it should just work:
http://www.gigabyte.com.au/Motherboard/GA-Z68M-D2H-rev-10#support-dl

Any apps you are using that came with the motherboard like Lan Optimizer, on/off charge etc are unlikely to work and you should remove them before upgrading.

Once upgraded and activated and all that good stuff, I recommend doing a full fresh install of 10 to avoid any weird issues that comes with upgrading a previously installed operating system.

Solution
Yes it is compatible with windows 10. And the windows installation is based on hard drive not the motherboard. And this board is pretty much good to go for windows 10. Give it a try and if you get stuck somewhere you can ask me here. :)

This is actually 100% incorrect. The installation of a new operating system has absolutely nothing to do with the hard drive and is very much dependent upon the drivers that are available for the motherboard.
