I want to upgrade my HDD and thought i might as well make use of its SATA 6gb/s compatability but im not sure if my motherboard will accept this. Motherboard; MCP73PVT-PM. I've scoured the internet using this motherboard name and cannot find anything. If i've typed something wrong here's my pc; Packard Bell Ixtreme m3720 with a few upgrades.

Solution
The MoBo has 4 SATA II ports. SATA III is backwards compatible so you can use any new HDD like WD Blue or SeaGate Barracuda, etc. Also, there won't be any performance drop as HDDs simply don't have enough power to utilize the extra badnwidth provided by SATA 3, and 3 is mainly useful for SSDs. Feel free to upgrade the HDD :)
