Is my motherboard damaged or going bad?

Back in September i built my first pc with the incredibly stupid mistake of not installing the motherboard with the spacers. Once I realized what I did, which was after trying to start and getting nothing, I re installed it and the pc functioned perfectly fine. Fast forward to January of this year, my pc began losing monitor signal during graphic intensive content such as games and CAD. After exploring several possibilities, such as trying a different graphics card, psu, cables, etc, I'm starting to wonder if it could be the motherboard experiencing some damage from the short circuit several months prior.

Additionally, when my computer loses signal, I normally have to wait anywhere from 5-30 minutes to turn the pc on again, or else I will get no signal to the monitor( usually i have to unplug it and plug back in). The rest of the pc starts up there's just no signal.

Did you check your graphics card for overheating? What temperatures is it running under load? Are the components getting enough airflow?
Generally graphics cards are more likely to fail then motherboards.
When you installed the spacers was there any obvious damage to the motherboard?

As the problem is intermittent it may be difficult to pinpoint the culprit. Does the problem occur if your not playing games or CAD?
