Question Is my motherboard dead?

Hey guys, about 2 days ago I was on my computer talking to my friends on discord. I was mid conversation when my whole pc turned off and scared the shit out of me. I thought there was a power outage but realized the lights in the hallway was still on. Anyways, when I tried to turn the pc back on, it wouldn’t turn on. I opened the pc and smelled inside. Obviously hot air, but everything looked normal to me. I tried the paper clip psu test and the psu turned on. Does that mean my motherboard has gone bad? Pc noob btw

I’ll also note that I’ve only had this motherboard for a month or two, if that matters at all..
