Well is started (err well attempted) to build my computer today. First i put the CPU in the mobo, and the video card in the mobo, and started that set-up, and it worked.
In other words, i did a test build outside the computer case.
I detached everything and proceeded to put it together.
My computer case is an Antec 1200 Gaming Case
My motherboard is a: SRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard.
For those if you familiar with this mobo, it has Dr. Debug on it, so on the mobo debug numbers display in a problem.
Anyway, my case has 6 motherboard pegs. But the people at antec only supplied me with 4 brass standoffs to screw in. So i set my mobo up connected everything, and turned on my PC for the first time....
It would not start. The lights and the fans work for about half a second, then die. So i took the mobo out, did a second test build, also known as bread-boarding. The only thing that worked was the CPU heatsink. So like "something" on the board works outside the case.
There are several lights on this mobo, that are supposed to light up, like the Dr. Debug panel and they don't. Nothing shows up on my comp screen either.
So did the mobo short out? i RMA'd it, but should i try another method? Is this board beyond using now?
