Hi guys, thanks in advance for your informed input.
I've been having problems with my PC. I loaded up totalwar Warhammer one day, it froze screen went red and shut off, then it kept blue screening with different errors. So logically I took out 1 stick of ram after unsuccessfully trying to re-install graphics drivers etc.. This worked for a few days!
Then today I got a bluescreen on the same game(coincidence?) critical_process_died. Then on restart, it was asking my to inset a bootable device. So I use bios to manually select my ssd, boots up. Log into windows, black screen. Tried some shit I read and ran repair cmd prompt with rebuilding my bcd or something, didn't work.
I tried checking all the cables.
Then, I try again after pressing f8 to select my ssd to boot off. Windows boots up! Sent a message on steam and stuff. Then I go plug in my USB hdd to back some stuff up, BSOD critical_process_died within a second of plugging in my USB hdd.
To give you an idea of age, my processor is a phenom x6 1055t. My psu and gpu are less than a year old.
What is failing here and how do I go forward?
- is it my SSD failing?
- is my motherboard dying?
- maybe more faulty ram? But why would that cause it to forget what drive it is too boot from?
I hope you guys can help me solve this puzzle. I really am at a loss on what to do. Thanks!
