Is my motherboard failing?

This is not a new build, been having trouble lately with the computer restarting itself over and over again.

Troubleshoot I've done:

Windows reset Booting into Ubuntu from a USB(still restarts)

Using Ubuntu HDD smart analysis telling me my hdd is fine

Memtest 86 telling me my ram is fine

Tried a new psu( sometimes the computer would last longer without restarting while on power saving mode w little cpu usage, this had me thinking it could be my power, it was not)

Tried disconnecting reset switch from MOBO None of this has worked, computer keeps on restarting.

Tried resetting CMOS

Tried reseating gpu

Tried booting without gpu

All of this results in the same problem, first boot my computer boots fine then after some minutes computer will go black and begins in a reboot loop that goes on and on.

While on the BIOS the computer wont restart.

Considering that board is likely about 5-8 years old, and that it was never good enough for an 8 core FX CPU in the first place, I'd say it's highly likely that the board is failing from electrical or thermal fatigue.

While that board WILL run an 8 core FX processor, it has neither good enough VRMs/power delivery nor does it have heatsinks on the VRMs, and we have historically seen these boards crumple and fold when running FX8 on them. FX6 are fine, FX8 are overwhelming for the board design.

It COULD be PSU related, as the BQ units are not very good at all, but it would be far more likely to be a problem with the motherboard.

Memtest86 doesn't...

Memtest86 doesn't always detect faulty RAM either. It might be worth trying different memory in there if you can borrow some, just for testing.

As for the PSU, this would usually be the first and most probable issue with any system that just shuts off, but not generally with one that restarts continuously. I'd try the RAM first, if you can borrow some, and if that doesn't fix the problem then I'd get a worthwhile motherboard or simply wash your hands and upgrade.

And by worthwhile, I mean one of these boards. You need to get a board that is capable of supporting 8 FX Piledriver cores. Not one that barely handles six.

(Be sure to check when looking for a motherboard that any of the models shown below are either 990fx, 990 or 970 chipsets. A Z170 Extreme6 for example, is not going to work with your FX processor, so you want to look for the 990/990fx Extreme6, just as an example.)
