Well I decided to do something very stupid and I think I fried my older abit is7 v motherboard, I was trying to add an additional fan while it was powered on and I accidentally plugged it into the plug that says audio next to it. The computer immediately powered off and will not power on, is the motherboard dead?

I have another spare motherboard that I can use bits from if anyone is good with fixing them I have a heat gun and soldering iron and might be able to fix it. but I'm not sure where to start...

Try clearing CMOS before you give up, either remove the battery on your motherboard for a minute or two or short the Clear CMOS pins if you know which they are. If that don't work then Breadboard the thing, unplug everything but the main power, cpu power, heatsink, and see if it will Post. Just go back to the basics and build up and see if its salvageable, I wouldn't think just the audio header would ruin a board. This link will help break this thing down to basics and eliminate other elements.
