Good day, my motherboard is a B365M MSI Mag Mortar and its says on the Manual that the m.2 slot is:

  1. 1xM.2 slot - supports up to PCIe 3.0x4 and SATA 6Gb/s, 2242/2260/2280/22110 storage devices.
  2. Intel Optane Memory Ready.
Nevermind the Intel Optane Memory not planning to buy one. What I would like to ask is if my board be able to support an NVME or should I stick to an M.2 Sata SSD/2.5" SSD. Thanks.

Your motherboard supports either a PCIe 3.0/4.0 NVME or a SATA speed drive. Given that a PCIe 3.0 NVME drive are usually only 5 or 10 dollars more then a SATA speed one I would go with a PCIe 3.0 NVME. PCIe 4.0 drives are substantially more expensive anf for most work loads 3.0 is more then most users will need so save the money.
