When I pressed the power button, the computer would not start. The fans of my case would run for half a second and then shut off. The CPU fan would not turn on at all. If I pressed the power button for the second time, nothing would run at all, not even the fans. I would have to turn off the power supply and turn it back on, so the power button would repeat the same thing again with the fans running for half a second and refuse to turn on.

I am guessing the problem is either the motherboard or the power supply.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
