Is my motherboard slowing down my SSD?

Motherboard: GA-78LMT-USBA
Drives: Samsung 840 EVO 128GB and a 500GB 7200RPM
Is my motherboard reducing the speed of my SSD? According to the Samsung Magician I am getting 279/256 read write when I could be getting "Up to" 540/410
I'm also getting a third of the "Up to" Read IOPS
If it is my motherboard would it be worth it to upgrade at all? I am fine with how fast it is right now, but if it would result in double loading times and much better performance I would consider it.
Thanks for any help!

Well, what CPU do you have?
It's possible your motherboard is slowing you down, it uses the older Sata2, and I think the max transfer rate you'd get with that would be 384 MBs, your CPU may also not be able to write/read it that fast either.
Newer Sata3 can in theory do up to 768 MBs transfer rates, but the SSD would still be limited to 540/410.

I'm using an FX 4300, thanks for the help! Is the difference between 279/256 and 540/410 be noticeable in load and boot times?

Not really. A standard 7200 RPM HDD does about 120 MBs R/W and that's still pretty fast except for things that aren't optimized well.
Although, maybe try a different benchmarker? I use CrystalDiskMark http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html (Just use the portable version)
