My problems started when I traded my friend my gtx 970 for his r9 r390. I deleted the drivers and installed new ones for a Radeon card and all was going well. I started a game of csgo and sound was fine as always but my microphone was distorting my voice making it extremely squeaky sounding almost sped up and being impossible to understand. So, I tried to trouble shoot this myself and reinstalled the audio drivers, which then caused all my sound to go only making a periodic crackling noise. I tried all the audio drivers on pc and managed to get my audio back, but my microphone is completely gone. My pc recognizes it and it says it is set as default, but it does to show any input. I completely wiped my pc and the same thing happened, it says my mic is there yet it does not get any input. I even tried my friends usb mic and it still did not work and I even put my old gtx 970 back in and it did not work. I am completely lost as to why my mic does not work at all, maybe it is the motherboard or something?? Any help is appreciated.

Solution
It seems there might be an issue with the actual motherboard. It should be under warranty still, try to get it RMA'd by MSI.

MSI mobo's have been giving nothing but problems lately, in older and recent models. Consider other brands for future purchases.
The sound goes in and out... I just restarted my computer and I'm getting repetitive crackling sounds and no sounds will play except this. This plays even when I'm not playing any sound like music, it is continuous.
