Hi all,

My girlfriend and I are both gamers and streamers on Twitch. Our previous internet speed could not support us both streaming, so we decided to upgrade yesterday to a 300/60 speed.

Connected to the same Router, using the two pair of LAN cables, which are completely the same - we even tried a third cable which was the same - gave her a full speedtest result of 310/58 mbit. However, while testing my internet speed we received a result of 95/55.

I highly doubt that its the inbuildt LAN port in my Motherboard, but I would like to hear input from you guys. Even if the issue might lie somewhere else than my Motherboard.

My current Motherboard is: MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X

Solution
There is something that is causing your ethernet to autonegotiate to 100Mbit. Check that the "speed" parameter of your network adapter is set to auto. Physically look into the ethernet port. Are there 8 wires that are all parallel. Do the same check on the router port.
