Is my new build good or too much?

Hi guys. I'm almost done building my rig. Here are the specs:

Intel core i7 4790k
8 gb (2x4) crucial ballistix elite 1866 mhz
Asus sabertooth z97 mark 1
cooler master N600
Thermaltake smart se 730w

That's it. By the way, I still don't have a graphic card, can you guys recommend me a good gpu that matches my rig? and lastly, is there something wrong with my build? are there parts that are not so good with my build or whatnot. Thanks!

Oh! and i'm stuck with intel heat sink.

What are you using this build for? If only for gaming and web browsng, then i7 processor is overkill, an i5 will do you just the same, and will last very very long from what we can see. also, since you're getting an i7, you may consider getting 16GB since it just doesnt make sense. i5 + 8GB or i7 + 16GB is what I'd say lol,

not saying the n600 isnt a good case, but there are better ones for the price, i'll recommend a few in a sec,

also, the PSU is 730W and thermaltake, there are better PSUs out there, and you may not need 730W to power your build, it's too much,

Lastly, EVERYONE will agree with me on this: get a GTX 970, it's the best in terms of price/performance, it runs very cool, consumes very little power, all around it is the best possible option for any enthusiast build.

You could change the case, but it's such a fantastic case, literally perfect and offers the most upgradeability from what I've seen (look up the rview from hardwarecanucks)

Thank you for answering.. To be honest, It's much more on the gaming side for this rig. I do some editing but not that much. I know that i7 is overkill but what i've been thinking about is I think this cpu will last longer than the i5 for like more than 5 years based on its performance. And as far as i know, there are a lot of improvements from i7. People say that the i7 gains more fps than i5.. like 15-20 fps increase depending on the games.. especially battlefield 4.

Not really, games will continue to use 4 cores for a long time, so no need to worry about having an i5. Of course having an i7 will help with editing and stuff and will last longer for u, but i don't think it's worth the extra money if you won't be doing heavy editing. an i5 can fulfill your needs well and costs much less. The 8gb, I'm not sure, since you edit, you may consider 16GB. 16GB will certainly future proof your rig as much as possible, so I won't tell you not to get it.

I doubt an i7 would gain you 15-20 FPS, that's INSANE. I think maybe you mean unparking your cores gains you 15-20 FPS? Personally, I have an 4690K + 970, and I get 90 FPS avg on BF4 1080P Ultra 16x AF (after unparking 3 of my parked cores). Before I unparked them I was getting about 10 FPS less on avg.

I have a MSI twin frozr edition, the 2nd best imo. You could get the Gigabyte G1 version, which is the best currently, but it's the longest 970 card and doesn't fit in some cases. Don't buy that one unless you're certain it will fit in your case, check the dimensions from the manufacturer's website before purchasing.
But the MSI twin frozr is awesome, it looks sexy, it runs very cool (65 degrees C at load) and is DEAD silent (no joke). it's such an amazing card.
