Bought a new hard drive.
TOSHIBA X300 HDWE160XZSTA 6TB 7200 RPM 128MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Desktop Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit

It makes so much noise, compared to 3 other 1TB drives of 32/64mb cache.
The youtube video sound is very close if not identical to the noise I hear, but maybe as much as 200% louder.

It also takes 2min 40 secs to boot a fresh windows 7 install, updated & defragmented, nothing else on drive, to get to desktop screen.
My other drives 98% full with windows 7 takes 38 secs till desktop screen.

Is this drive bad or going bad? I have an RMA open, but want to make sure I am not just being picky or something.

Thanks in advance.

Hey there, @ebayguy2006!

It definitely sounds unstable to me. I'd second what @Rocky & @Phillip mentioned and advise you to proceed with the RMA procedure.
Just make sure you don't forget to backup any important data from the drive somewhere else as the replacement product won't have any of your files transferred to it by the manufacturer.
Such physical corruption is pretty dangerous for your files that why you should always make sure you store your files on at least two different storage devices. This is the surest way avoid any potential data loss in the future! :)

Best of luck!
