Is my Pc compatible with gtx 1080 ?

Looking to upgrade to a 1080 gtx from my 970. was just wondering whether my pc is compatible with it.

CPU :Intel Core i7 4790 @ 3.60GHz
RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz
Motherboard :
MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO. LTD NIGHTBLADE B85C
Current GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (MSI)

yes it will work fine but unless your playing on a 2K (or higher) monitor with 144 refresh rate the GTX 1080 is total overkill.

So i should get the 1070 if i dont plan to game on a 4k monitor ?
