Long story short I got a friends i7 put it in my PC. Power turned on case fans lit up but no signal on monitor. After being on for 45-60 seconds the PC restarted itself. Still no picture.

I researched and found my bios was outdated so I took that as the issue and replaced the i7 with my i5.

Plugged it in turned it on and the same thing happened. No signal and PC rebooted itself after about a minute.

I have i5 4690k and an Msi gaming z97 g45 mobo. Everything worked fine when I booted up this morning. But since the first couple swap it hasn't.

Please help

not good news 🙁

you could have very well destroyed your motherboard.

VERY CAREFULLY try to bend them back to exactly where they should be. its the only way you are salvaging the board. itll either work or it wont. you might want to bend them up slightly higher to make sure they make contact with the chip.

that voids your mobo warranty too fyi.

i feel your pain. i once bent pins on my fx-8350 processor. luckily it worked when i bent them back.
