Is my pc good enough for gaming?

Hi I am relatively new to pc gaming and my first time building my own pc. I have an asrock a75m mobo, an a6 3670k cpu and planning on getting either a R9 280x or R9 290, and 8 gb or more of ram. So my question is will i be able to play newer games at high/ultra setting? Or some older games like skyrim with some graphics mods? I appreciate any input.

Because of the poor CPU that will bottleneck your GPU, ultra settings will defenitely be a no.

Completely removing filters and anti aliasing may give you playable fps on modern games.

To be completely honest if your going for ultra, you would need either an AMD FX 8320 or i5 4460, combine those with the R9 390 and your set for 1080 at least for the next few years. 8GB of RAM is more than plenty for strictly gaming. You would loose about 15% of the 390's performance with the 3670K, depending on the game, online games and games with heavy processing like Civ 5 will suffer more than others.

I meant the a6 and the a75m motherboard cost 100 but my budget is somewhere in the 800 to 1000 range what would you guys suggest the best stuff i could get in terms of cpu and motherboard?

What currency is your budget in? Might as well buy a new platform since the A6 will fair poorly in modern games.
