Is my PC haunted?....

Hey all,

Recently purchased a PC from a friend and every night bed I hit "Sleep" and it does what its meant to and goes to sleep till I wake it in the morn....this was until the other night when the PC decided to wake itself up....I ignored it and 30 mins later it went back to sleep (as I have set it to) and woke up again a minute or so later...this continued all night as I was too lazy to get up and switch it off completly...

Any idea why it would come out of sleep mode by itself?

Sometimes i've had it where i've left my mouse on a reflective surface or resting on something so it moves slightly and that's woken the computer.

But more than likely you gotta call ghostbusters or something

Ghostbusters cant get out to me until the end of next week...

I thought it was the mouse at first but my optical doesnt stay on so it needs a nudge to turn on and then another nudge to wake the PC, also the mouse is sat on a fabric chair next to the bed (saves me having to be at the desk to use it 😀)

Best way to do it, love using my PC from my recliner. I would certainly still have a look into that though as if you have a high dpi mouse, passing over the small bristles in a fabric chair could be enough, as i said, i've experienced it a few times myself.

Alternatively, bit of a long shot, do you have something like a timed back up across the network etc and something could be using the LANs wake from sleep function to perform the backup, update etc?

Havent set any myself...will take a look to see if the pc has done anything by itself...freakin' ghosts
