Hello community,
So recently i built a very high end PC.
Specifications:
GPU- asus strix gtx 1070 OC version
CPU- i7 6700K
RAM- geil super luce 16 gb (2 x 8)
CPU cooler- CM EVO 212x
MOBO- MSI z170a Gaming Pro (not carbon edition just the standard one)
SSD- samsung 850 250 gb
HHD- Seagate 2tb
PC case- NZXT Noctis 450
PSU- Corsair RMx 750x
Display- Asus VG248qe

Now as you can see, my specs are somewhat high end. Now the problem is that i feel skeptical and unsure if my pc is performing at its best, i dont know if i am using all its power. The only games that i have played so far are arma 3 and rainbow six siege. I have set both games at fairly high settings, mostly ultra settings. I dont know if i should lower them or not, but the thing is i dont know how many fps i should expect from these games. Arma 3 get about 50-75 fps in single player, i havent tried multiplayer yet tho. Rainbow six siege idk how many fps im getting but i also set the settings pretty high.

Now im wondering is there any way to know or benchmark my pc so i know the power and fps that i should be expecting from games. I mean is there any source on the internet that will be able to tell me how many fps i should be getting from these games, or what settings i should be running?

Should i overclock my cpu or increase my fan speeds while im running these games..

I just have so many questions, and im scared in a way because i dont know if my pc is performing well... i spent a lot of money on it and i was expecting that it would be running all the games at their highest settings.

Also how many fps should i expect from csgo in muliplater? I have a 144hz monitor so shouldnt i play games at 150 fps? im not saying that due to the monitor that the games should run at 150 fps im just wondering if my games should be played at 150fps on a 144hz monitor

Also what software do i have to install? DirectX and that stuff? And like i said before is there any benchmark to test my pc's power?

Solution
The 212X is perfectly fine for an i7 OC'd.
For a baseline, what I use to OC on client builds is 1.4v 4.7GHz which is always perfectly stable, never had it mess up.
Overclock your CPU and GPU if you haven't already, make sure you have a good CPU cooler to do so though. Also make sure your monitor settings are actually set to 144hz, just having a 144hz monitor doesn't auto set your settings in your OS to 144hz for your monitor so make sure you do that. make sure Vsync is off in games and go into steam settings - In game, display FPS and make it high contrast color for R6 siege unless you are using uplay then go into settings there and set the FPS in game to show. I have about the same system as you and get above 144fps in r6 siege and tons of other games. I doubt you are underperforming you just probably aren't letting your games go above 60 fps.

As for benchmarks I use unigine valley and unigine heaven they are great to test your GPU. As your CPU is not going to bottleneck anything so basically no reason to check that.

and as of overclocking, how do i do it and why should i do it?

Overclocking is pretty easy, I'm not going to go into exactly how to do it as it can be a bit confusing at first I'd recommend watching a video on youtube there are TONS of videos with step by step instructions on what to do. Anyways why to do it? well you have an unlocked K processor meaning if you don't overclock you are just losing free performance. Sure the Volts will go up if you want to push the overclock, but even at stock settings you can usually get a decent boost in performance. IMO there is no reason not to overclock.

btw what are your pc specs? and what r6 settings do you run?

i really have no knowledge about oc, do i have to change voltage too? and how do i do it?

and btw do you know any way to test my pc power and which setting i should chose for games?
