For the same price you can get an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X with 4 cores/4 threads versus the i3-7100, which is 2 cores/4 threads (15% better performance). Even better, for just a little more is the i3-8100 (20-25% better performance). The new cheaper chipsets/motherboards are now available for the i3-8100.
