Is my PC running at a decent temp?

So I've been upgrading my PC a little bit this last month and picked up an I5 4690 and then added on a Noctua NH-L9i heatsink for it. Before adding the heatsink I'd be sitting around 35C stable but now I'm running around 40-42 stable any ideas why? I'll add all stable temps to my specs. Thanks for any help.

Specs

CPU - I5 4690 - 40C
MotherBoard - MSI Z97 PC Mate(MS-7850) (SOCKET 0) - 32C
Graphics Card - R9 380 - 39C
Ram - 8GB
HeatSink - Noctua NH-L9i L-Type Low-Profile Cooler

As long as they are under 60C, then they're safe.

I'm betting that the heat sink isn't mounted properly/there isn't enough thermal paste, you should try removing the heat sink, and reapplying just enough thermal paste to cover about 70%of the chip surface, then reinstalling the heat sink.

Alright thanks for the response any idea why my cpu is running warmer with an aftermarket heats ink though?

Anything bad happen if I take out the back grill of the case?
