I have an MSI GE72VR 6RF Apache Pro

Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core (2.6GHz, 6MB Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Up To 3.5GHz)
17.3" Full HD Screen
8GB DDR4 RAM
128GB SSD + 1000GB HDD
Dedicated GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 Graphics

I play games like GTA 5, Overwatch, FIFA 17, Witcher 3 and more

Solution
Monitor your GPU utilization (and CPU for that matter). A program such as HWMonitor will help there.

I can;t imagine the i7 holding back a 1060 at all. Admittedly it's the mobile version, so not as powerful as it's desktop counterpart, but should allow you to max out your GPU utilization.

Although the 1060 is a quality card for it's pricepoint, there are many situations where "max settings" does not exactly = "max settings". You may have to turn down shaders etc to reach playable FPS.

I'm seeing reports of ~30FPS at truly 'maxed out' GTAV settings..... when you select maximum everything, what kind of performance do you see?
Every setup has some form of bottleneck - it's whether you'd notice in 'real world' usage that matters.

You're on a laptop. That's about as good as it can be really.

A 1070 would likely yield greater FPS, but you should be seeing great performance from a 1060 at 1080p ("FUll HD"). At 1080p, a 1070 is a bit of a waste anyway. A 1060 would be the recommended.

What specifically are you seeing as an issue?

8GB RAM is a little low these days, but should still be fine for 99.9% of titles.

In a laptop, I would imagine your GPU may be a little warmer that ideal. Are you monitoring temperatures at all?

I copied the specs from the site i got it from, didnt actually type "FULL HD" lol

In GTA 5 i cant completely max out the settings, i have to turn some stuff like long shadows off and aa to maybe x8
Since i hear games like this also rely on CPU, im guessing is my CPU powerful enough to allow the 1060 to run fully without a bottleneck?

I have the long/extended shadows off, anti aliasing to x8 and fxaa off, other than that its all crancked up and getting about 60-90fps depending on where i am in the map
