is my pc strong enough to handle a gtx 1080?

The question is simple, will my pc be strong enough to fully support a gtx 1070/1080.
I will be playing a 1080p for now, in the future might go to 1440p but not anytime soon.

i7 4790 (non k)
16gb ddr 3
antec 550w vpf
h97m anniversary mobo

Im currently running a r9 380 4gb.

No problem. The CPU and PSU will both easily handle the GTX 1080.
