I have an msi970a g46 mobo and a cx corsair 600 watt power supply and the 24 pin connector is not fitting at all. It all matches up and slides in to a certain point to where i have to push in very very hard to get the pins to move a very small bit. But im not able to reach the latch on the mobo. I took some pics of my mobo and power supply to see whats up and it looks like one of the cables on the 24 pin connector on the psu is missing. Is that supposed to be like that?

Oh right, had to read through your reply a couple of times to figure out what you were saying xD
I don't know. But I've found this if you are willing to read it: http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?/topic/164761-turn-on-computer-with-no-case/

No, you have to join them to the 20-pin plug, and put the in as it is only one 24-pin plug. But I guess you already did this.
Ummm, there really shouldn't be any problem with this, is the computer working when you push it inside?

Nope not powering on, right now im just doing a test with all the parts out of the case, this is my first build so naturally something would go wrong but im not sure whats up with this psu. Do i have to be connected to a monitor for the system to power on?

If the 6 pin is for the cpu then yes, would the system just turn on if i hit the back of the psu or is there some sort of button im supposed to press, or something i need to do in order to start up the board after i turn on the psu?

I cant even find where that is on my board xD. I think what ill do is just put it all into the case and it should work when i get everything all connected. Hopefully the psu's 24 pin will end up working without being forces in all the way. Ill letcha know how it goes thanks!
