i have an issue of my screen showing black screen but my system turns on and showing my reset led indicator a steady on light. before that happened i smell something like burned from my system is it the psu, mobo, or processor.
which mostly breaks easily among 3 of these components

ps: i dont have a gpu installed in the mobo

specs:
jetway p4m2pro-p
pentium D 925
512mb ddr2 533mhz
generic psu 550watts

btw this is the picture of my processor's burnt mark will it be alright?

That heat spreader doesn't look burnt to me. Your psu is much more likely to fail. Motherboard is next. If the psu went it could possibly have taken other components out with it.

among all of these situations/cases how often does the processor confirmed to be not working. does it mean my processor is also dead?
