So, I had a computer that was build by an IT and it worked perfectly. Over two years I decided to upgrade to a new processor which was the i7 4970k. Unfortunately, after installing it and trying to boot up ti would not boot. All the case fans were spinning and my graphics card led were on. On the q-code I seen error 00. My case fan is very difficult to install and typically I have to put some pressure on the screws. This is my first time ever installing a processor and I don't see where I went wrong. I made sure I cautiously put the processor in the slot and closed. There was bit of thermal on the pcb of the processor, but very very little (I wiped it off now).
System Specs:
i7 4770k (to i7 4970k)
Maximus Vi Extreme
970 SLI
G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB(4x4GB) 1866MHz
corsair 1200i
Sorry guys, I know I'm a noob.

It most likely needs the bios update to work with your new CPU. Unless you updated it already.
You need to put the old CPU in and update the bios to version 1402. http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_EXTREME/HelpDesk_CPU/ Also... Why upgrade from a 4770K to a 4790K? There's barely even a difference between those processors aside from clock speed.

I will tell you guys what happens after the old processor is put back, but for right now I may wait until someone more experienced assists me tomorrow. As for the upgrade, I had a 4790k lying around.

I handed my pc over to my friend for him to take a look. He told me the socket had a bit of dust inside of it and that there were no bent pins on the socket. Later in the weekend he will be testing the old processor when he has a chance.
